Don't say you want me. Don't say you need me. Don't say you love me, it's understood. Don't say you're happy out there without me. I know you can't be. Cause it's no good. I'm going to take my time. I have all the time in the world to make you mine. It is written in the stars above.

Okay jumping on the bandwagon. You're welcome. )

I had such a fantastic Mother's Day. I got breakfast in bed, and a really nice present. I have the best kid in the world. Mother's Day always makes me want more babies. I should probably get on that before I get to be way too old, right? Right. I guess I'm gonna have to nag someone. I hope everyone else had really awesome Mother's Days as well.

School's also winding down to a close. Not that I get to leave when the kids do. While my kid gets to lounge around all day at her dad's house, I get to be stuck still at school for a while longer. Paperwork is the tits. Never heard that expression until a couple of days ago, but I like it.

I think I need some adult time after all of this, but I don't know what to do with myself. What does everyone else do when they need time without kids?

I want school to be over already!

It took all of my willpower not to put that sentence into large sparkly letters. Sigh. But really, I've got spring fever so bad. It doesn't help that it keeps getting warm, and then cold, and then warm and then cold. I know Jackie would appreciate being out of school too.

Speaking of, she's informed me that she wants to go stay with her father for most of the summer, which is bumming me the hell out. Like a lot. This is because apparently her father lives near some boy, and her best friend from school. My kid has a boyfriend. I'm trying not to go threaten anyone with a shotgun. It's not that I fight with her father, he's my best friend. I love him, but I still wish we were in the same house. It's been so weird since he moved out, that it's not the three of us anymore.

So my summer is going to suck. Except for going to Disneyworld, if we're still going.

Anyone else's summer ruined already?

We had such a good Spring Break. It was so much fun. We went to D.C. and saw all of the museums. Jackie loved them all so very much. She enjoyed the Smithsonian the most, most specifically the Natural Science Museum, with all of the stuffed animals and stuff. She adored the history museum too. Seeing Abraham Lincoln's hat was definitely an experience.

Oh and we went to the zoo, she enjoyed that. The D.C. zoo is way bigger than the zoo near us. It has a lot of baby animals and I'm sure they're going to get more since it's spring. In any case, she had a lot of fun, and so did I.

She didn't want to come home, and if I could have taken us both out of school, I would have. At least we had today and tomorrow to rest.

I have souvenirs for people I love. Who missed us?

Spring Break approaches. I for one am really looking forward to it. I'm really glad that the kid and I have the same breaks and vacation. Makes things easier. Don't know what I'm going to do when she gets older. I keep thinking I should take her somewhere. Maybe head to DC, or somewhere. Somewhere educational maybe? I haven't really decided, but I think we might go somewhere.

What is everyone else up to for spring break? Anything exciting? Someone tell me they're going to Cancun or just being incredibly lazy.

I actually really adore Valentine's Day, do you know why? Not because I like all of the chocolate (though that does help) and the mushy stuff. It's because of the kids in my school.

Every Valentine's Day all of the kids get paper bags and they decorate them with Valentine's Day stuff. Then they go out and buy the little tiny Valentine's Day cards and write things and put them in each others mailboxes so to speak. It's the cutest thing, and I adore it. My own kid participates a lot. Last year she got Doctor Who valentines. This year, we're getting Avengers Valentines. At least that's what she tells me. She makes the rules.

My favorite part though is when some of the little kids get actual crushes on each other and write things. I heard about a little girl who got a love note from a boy last year just saying that she watched the same tv shows as him, so he loved her. How cute is that?

In any case, I'm accepting valentine's as we speak.
